Winters life-bringing rains signal a magical transformation across the South West Tapestry as this agricultural region becomes blanketed in velvety greens.
The rural landscapes surrounding Bunbury, Burekup, Dardanup, Harvey and Boyanup in Australia’s South West really come to life as crops and fields become luxuriant with growth.
Such lovely scenery makes for delightful drives throughout the region – past forest, fields and rustic farm yards.
Be sure to sample some of the fresh produce like cheeses and seasonal fruits and vegetables while on your journey.
Foodies will also delight in the restaurants and cafes dotted through the region, as well as the emerging wine scene.
The towns here are also home to galleries and quaint craft shops. Spend time exploring and who knows what treasures you’ll find to take home.
For something a bit different, visit the odd phenomenon known as Gnomesville, east of Dardanup. Here, amongst the forest, is a community of around 1,000 gnomes, placed here by random passers by.
You can also soak up the beauty of the forest on walk trails. Try the Collie River Valley walk trail for an especially enchanting stroll.
